Mitch Epstein: American Nature

The exhibition shows a selection from Mitch Epstein’s current series Old Growth. The splendor and complexity of a primeval forest inspires reflection on time: These forests take many years to grow, but in the last century alone, most forests on American soil have been razed to the ground. The photographs provide an insight into the precious remains of a pre-colonial America, rich in resources and diversity and long spared from exploitation by human industry.
